We rearranged some of our patio furniture in the backyard and put up our table umbrella. I have wanted to make little hanging lanterns like this for awhile and all the ones I have seen are hung from wire. Thanks to my decluttering I have been doing, I know longer had any craft wire! I did not let that stop me though, and instead just used so string.

What you will need are canning jars and twist on lids, some string, and scissors.

I tied the lids onto the umbrella in varying heights and then twisted on the lid. My string was thin enough to still thread for a tight fit.

Then I filled every other jar with flowers and water or small candles.

An easy summer project that cost me zero dollars. Love that.
