A Time For Thankfulness

Take delight.

Choose joy.

Practice happiness.

I don't always feel like being happy.  So sometimes I need to practice it.  It starts by being thankful.

I have been really challenged lately to be more positive, thankful, and uplifting.  I wish I was a natural at this sort of thing but I am not.  And so I must practice.

There is a very short time between practicing thanksgiving and becoming thankful.

You cannot give thanks for too long before you heart starts changing towards thankfulness.

It is time for me to start practicing thankfulness.

In the midst of the busyness of life...and the approaching holiday seasons ahead...I do not want to lose focus on a thankful and joyful heart.  This year I want to go into the upcoming seasons with a spirit of joy and a peaceful heart.

Starting this Thursday, I will be hosting "Thankfulness on Thursdays" where I invite you to join me in writing a blog post about something you are thankful for.

From now until Thanksgiving, every Thursday {starting this week--August 2} I will be sharing what I am thankful for.  Because I need to practice thanksgiving.

I look forward to what my thankful heart will be like come Thanksgiving Day.

There are no real guidelines for linking up.  You can make a simple list or write out a whole post on one thing.  You can comment in the comment section or you can link up your blog post.  You can even write it in a journal in the privacy of your own home and heart.

But the focus is on practicing joy.  Practicing thanksgiving.  This isn't a forever commitment but long enough to be a challenge.  17 weeks.

Would you consider joining me?  Could you use some practice in being thankful?

I cannot take all the credit for these thoughts.  If this resonates with you, perhaps you have some time in your day to watch the following video:
