Backyard Fire Pit and Game Night

A few weeks ago, we had our last outdoor hoorah for the year.  I invited the girls from my Bible study over to hang out by the backyard fire pit for game night.  I was crossing my fingers that it would not rain as it had earlier that week.  To my luck, it was a perfect fall night.  Fresh leaves on the ground but not a rainy cloud in sight.

I set up a few extra chairs, plenty of blankets, along with our fire pit and outdoor heater.  Everyone was cozy and warm as we sat by the fire and looked up at the stars.

I set up a little beverage and snack table.  Hot water and coffee with all the fixings as well as some hot chili dip and chips.

And of course I had out my Silk Seasonal Nog!

Smores were set out for roasting along with a little Trader Joe's Cookie Butter for spreading.

I put out games and we ended up playing Last Word (one of my favorite group games by the way)...but mostly we enjoyed the night just chatting.

Thankful for the stillness a night like this brings, friendships that are available to just be, and a home that allows these two things to happen.
