With back to school right around the corner for us, I got out all our picture books for the kids to look through. This is such a sweet collection and we have added a few more since last year.
With a wide range of ages at our house, I try to keep to really sweet and innocent picture books. There are so many beautiful and thoughtful books out there - these are just vetted by me to simply get my kids thinking about and excited for school. They brought a lot of comfort to my daughter when she started kindergarten and so I really see the value of providing these to them ahead of time.
If your kids' school participates in Scholastic Book orders, I also recommend keeping a list of seasonal books you would like to add to your collection and then checking for them when it is time to put in an order. They are often a great price and help support your teacher!
