Handmade Fall Mantel

My fall mantel this year (well not really a mantel, but a serving buffet that pretends to be a mantel during the holidays) is full of handmade details that I am just in love with.  It is made up of craft beads strung, a book page wreath, and little pumpkins made by sweet crafting ladies hands.  It says cozy and warm.  Whimsical and welcoming.  Classic but not over the top.  And my pink dress in the mirror even matches my pink candlestick and cactus.  I promise I didn't plan that.

As I shared before with my fall tablescape, I have been having fun mixing a few pops of color with neutrals.  Painting my walls "almost white" was my best design decision yet.  It works so well with incorporating warmth with color during the holiday season.

Candlesticks are my new favorite obsession.  They work so well in adding height and can be used to showcase other things than just candles.  By collecting them in a variety of colors and shapes, while still staying in the neutral family, they can easily be used anywhere in the house and can be borrowed for decorating a table for a dinner party or get together.

This little twirly stem pumpkin is my favorite!  I have a few Halloween pieces made by the same lady that I will be sharing with you in October.  I also visit her every year at a local craft fair and am looking forward to adding more of her creations to my collection.

These craft wood bead garlands I made last year are also proving to be fabulous a second time around this year.  So easy and simple but so pretty.  Proof that decorating does not have to be expensive or elaborate!
