Cardboard Fire Engine

For our son's fire engine birthday party, I made him this cardboard fire truck. I will say it it one of my best yet and it has been such a fun birthday tradition to make my boys some type of cardboard vehicle.

I try to use what I have for each of these cardboard creations. Usually once birthday season starts rolling in, I will start saving our largest cardboard boxes we receive. From there, I use more cardboard and colored paper for some of the details. And I have this great set of acrylic paint that always supplies me with the colors I need.

I also usually just use packing tape to keep things together but hot glue comes in handy if it needs a stronger hold. The paper details get glued on with regular craft glue.
