Cherry Blossoms At University Of Washington + Redmond Night Away

Back in April Brent and I got another night away while my parents were in town for a visit. It is always such a nice time to be able to connect, get some kid free time, and enjoy some of the fun things we have to do in the Seattle area.

We stayed at The Archer Hotel in Redmond. It is one of our go to local hotels we really enjoy. It is also the hotel we stayed at when we came to Washington to decide if we were going to move here. The hotel is beautiful and it always brings back so much nostalgia to such an important turning point for our family.

While we were in Redmond, we ate at Matador, which we have been wanting to try for awhile. It is a twenty-one and older only restaurant so it was the perfect opportunity to finally check it out.

The nachos were amazing (I love me some nachos)!

The next morning we had a leisurely start to the day. I love to get my Nespresso on.

I really love eating breakfast at AKB, the restaurant at the Archer. We also usually get a food voucher when we book through the hotel making it even sweeter! I always get the breakfast sandwich and the bacon they serve is SO GOOD. We have breakfast here every time we stay. It makes not having to pack up and check out easier too.

The view of Marymoor Park from the hotel.

After a leisurely morning we headed across the water into Seattle to see the cherry blossoms at the University of Washington. This has been on my Washington bucket list for awhile and I am so glad we were able to time it right.

Both of our Washington born babies were born at the University of Washington so we have been here many many times. But we have never actually gotten out of our car and walked through the university campus. It was beautiful.

The cherry blossoms were luckily still in bloom. They were just passing their peak which meant that it wasn't very crowded either. For us, this is THE perfect time. Beautiful blooms and not a ton of people.

So many selfie opportunities but this one will have to be the favorite. Such beautiful cherry blossoms!

This view is also spectacular with the mountain in the background. We don't always get clear days to see the mountains so when we do we revel in it!

While we were in the area, we headed over to University Village for dinner.

Another place we haven't tried but have been wanting to was Din Tai Fung. We loved it!

We are pretty loyal to Dough Zone but I loved that they had some different items on the menu to try. It was it's own tasty and unique experience.

We had a lovely, beautiful, and delicious day and night away. We are so grateful to my parents for always being willing to watch our kids so we can reconnect and enjoy some time together. Plus I love getting to know our city and all there is to enjoy.
