Our sweet baby girl recently turned two and we had the best day celebrating her with a farmer's market birthday party. We filled the house with flowers, fruit, and of course, lots of balloons! It was a lovely little party celebrating our birthday girl!
I cannot believe she is already two. I know I keep saying this but time sure does fly by. It seems like just yesterday she was our squishy little newborn. These milestones are always so special to celebrate as they are markers of time for me. I hope by creating these memories I somehow lock in my brain each special age of my children.
Now to the party details...
For the table I used serving pieces I had (like my striped runner and cloth napkins) and incorporated a few famer's market details. I found some cute pink rainboots at the thrift store to serve as a vase along with the cutest $5 watering can. I ended up buying two watering cans - one for the birthday girl and one for myself (it comes in other colors too)!
I used cute little wooden berry baskets for the fruit, picked up flowers from Trader Joe's a few days before, and used little flower picks for the cake toppers.
We served lemonade in a cute scalloped tray and used these sweet gingham patterned paper cups.
These patterned plates and flower napkins added colorful contrast to my blue and white linens.
I used storebought cake mix and frosting for the mini layered cakes. I traded homemade cake for decorative ones this time which allowed me to enjoy the creative process. It was so fun to dust off my cake decorating skills again.
Our busy happy girl was hard to get a picture of! She very much enjoyed running around, playing with balloons, and taking it all in. She definitely is a full on toddler now!
She wore the same dress and bow as our older daughter did for her second birthday. It brought back so many memories and was so special to me that they could share this sweet outfit. I still remember the day I picked it out.
Our sweet spunky two year old! She is such a joy.
We kicked off the morning with birthday donuts. And I got my first real smile when surrounded by her big siblings. That is one very happy (and very lucky) little sister!
For lunch we had my favorite and so easy ham and cheese croissants along with salad and lots of fruit.
For her cake I went simple again with a box mix so I could focus on decorating it. A simple berry topped cake seemed fitting for a farmer's market party!
What a special day we had celebrating our girl! I can't believe my baby is growing up. It sure is bittersweet always...but especially more that this is my last baby. Thankfully she keeps getting more fun each day. To many more special birthdays my sweet girl.
