Rolled Fabric Flower Pin and Place Card Tutorial

For a recent ladies lunch I made fabric rolled flower pins for the girls to take home that also served as place cards.  I literally threw these together while food was cooking and my guests were to arrive within the hour.  That's how easy and fast these are to make.  And perhaps how determined I was to get them finished!

What you will need:

-Piece of fabric scrap {Mine were approximately 50 inches which made a small-medium size flower.  The longer your fabric, the bigger the flower}

-Hot glue

-Pin

 1. Tie a knot on one end of fabric and fold over fabric.

2. Wrap folded fabric around knot two times.

3. Every few wraps, twist fabric to create twisted look.  Add hot glue to keep every few wraps down.  As the flower gets wider around, you will want to twist twice--one twist on one side of flower, wrap, twist again before wrapping a full circle.

It doesn't need to be perfect.  The exposed fabric, random twisting, and fabric threads all add to the beauty of this flower.  You will figure what works best for the look you want as you go.

4. When you get to the end, glue one more time and then fold the end piece of fabric to the back and glue down.

5. Glue on pin.  I recommend gluing the pin higher than the center like I did so that the flower hangs flat when pinned to clothing.

I then pinned mine to place cards.

The fabric flowers added some sweetness to our lunch table and the girls all felt special that they got to take something home with them.
